Four people have been arrested after a man was seriously injured in a stabbing in Caterham.

The victim, in his 40s, is being treated in hospital after suffering “significant injuries” in the attack on Sunday evening, police said.

The stabbing happened in the Croydon Road area of the town about 8.20pm.

The man suffered "serious stab wounds" and remains in hospital today, said a Surrey Police spokesman.

Four men aged in their late teens and early 20s have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remain in custody.
