A Brit School dance student from Epsom was voted out of the Britain’s Got Talent semi-final last night despite impressing judges Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

Shyam Morjaria, an 18 year-old member of the Khronos Agoria dance company, originally from Cavell Way, Epsom competed in the show’s live semi-finals, last night.

From yesterday: Epsom dancer and Brit School pupil one step away from Britain's Got Talent finals with Khronos Agoria

Other acts that night featured drones, six massive polar bears, impressive pyrotechnics and cameos from pop stars One Direction.

Magician, hypnotist and mind reader Richard Jones and Star Wars shape-throwers Boogie Storm progressed to the show’s final on Saturday.

Khronos Agoria finished seventh out of nine acts in the public vote during the show’s third semi-final.

It was the group’s first live televised performance.

Judge David Walliams exclaimed: "Just listen to the crowd. It was absolutely electric, very dramatic, very intense."

Alesha Dixon told the group: "The last time I saw you I said I absolutely loved your energy and you have just gone to the next level.

"It was so passionate."

Amanda Holden said: "You are by far the best dance group we have had.

"For me, it is the passion and commitment you show on stage."

Simon Cowell told them: "I saw in every one of you the intensity (and) how much you have prepared for this.

"This just proves to me that Britain's got talent."

Shyam’s father, Bhavin Morjaria, who owns a dry cleaning business in Upper High Street in Epsom, said that customers have started to recognise his son from television and ask him about it.

He said: “People have told me they started watching the show because of him.”
