A man has denied stabbing to death his girlfriend at their home in Addiscombe.
Pawel Sroka, 33, appeared at the Old Bailey this morning charged with the murder of Joanna Trojniak in Meadvale Road on March 23.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on September 6.
Police and paramedics found Ms Trojniak, 29, suffering stab wounds at the couple’s terraced house just before 9pm. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Sroka was arrested in Gordon Crescent, Addiscombe, at about 10.35pm on the same night.
A post-mortem examination at Croydon Mortuary on March 24 concluded Ms Trojniak was killed by a stab wound to the chest.
Following her death friends paid tribute to a “kind creature” and said she would “always be in the memory of people who knew you”.
