Purley turned purple last week as local businesses and schools pledged support for the town’s cancer support centre.
South East Cancer Help Centre’s week-long campaign Paint Purley Purple kicked-off last Monday.
Purple-themed fundraising events will take place throughout this week, to increase awareness about work at the centre – and raise funds for its services.
Chris Philp MP, who launched the campaign at Tesco on Monday, said: “SECHC does fantastic work helping cancer sufferers in the neighbourhood and I am delighted to support PPP.
“I would also like to thank Tesco for all their support.”
Eleanor Appleton, who is helping with fundraising, said: “I am so excited to see Purley Painted Purple - the local businesses have been so supportive.
“The charity does such fantastic work and more people should know about us and the services we provide.”
