Ten restaurants are hoping to be named the best takeaway in south London.

Thousands of food fans have been nominating their favourite places to eat for the 2016 British Takeaway Awards (BTAs).

This has led to the 10 most popular takeaways in this region being shortlisted.

You now only have until midnight tonight (October 24) to vote at www.thebtas.co.uk for which one should be crowned the best in south London.

The five takeaways that have received the most votes will make it to the national awards ceremony held at The Savoy in London on December 5.

Each of 13 regional winners will receive £1,000 and free sign-up to Just Eat.

One of the winners will be named best British takeaway and also receive a cheque for £5,000.

Graham Corfield, UK managing director of awards partner Just Eat, said: “The British Takeaway Awards are all about recognising and rewarding the diversity and excellence of the nation’s takeaway industry.

“Making it to the top ten best takeaways restaurants in south London is a great achievement as it means their customers think they are providing great food and excellent customer service.“
