The driver of a tram that crashed and killed at least seven people yesterday in Croydon has been released on police bail.
The tram derailed and flipped at 6.10am yesterday (November 9) on the approach to the Sandilands junction near Addiscombe road.

Seven people people have been confirmed dead so far, and over 50 injured passengers were taken to hospital after the crash.
Investigators from the Rail Accident Investigation Branch are still collecting evidence into what caused the fatal crash, but said yesterday that "initial indications suggest that the tram was travelling at a significantly higher speed than is permitted."

The driver, a 42-year-old man from Beckenham, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of manslaughter.
The British Transport Police confirmed today that he has been released on police bail until May whil investigations continue.
