A man was stabbed in Croydon yesterday afternoon.

Police officers chased, caught and arrested a 20-year-old man, seen running, in Canterbury Road after being called at 3.41pm.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

The victim, who police believe was stabbed in the hand, did not need to be treated at the scene, but later took himself to a south London hospital.

The London Ambulance Service sent a paramedic and an ambulance to Canterbury Road.

Metropolitan Police continue its investigation.
