Chelsea fans will remember one of their own who died in the Croydon tram crash during a match with Tottenham this weekend.

Robert Huxley, 63, died when the vehicle overturned near Sandilands tram stop on Wednesday, November 9.

It had been travelling at more than three and a half times the speed limit when it derailed, killing seven people.

A post on Twitter by user Mark Worrall has now called on Blues fans to remember the "season ticket holder" in the 63rd minute of the game between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday for a minute's applause.

The post read: "The recent tram crash in Croydon claimed the lvies of seven people and injured many more. It is a tragedy that will have far reading consequences and impact many people for a significant time.

"Among those killed was 63-year-old Robert (Bob) Huxley - a lifelong Chelsea supporter and season ticket holder.

"Bob was a larger than life character and very hardworking. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend to many.

"Bob attended Blues games with his brother Phil, sons Adam and Ross and close friends whom he sat with in the Matthew Harding Lower Stand (Gate 10).

"Saturday 26 November sees Chelsea play Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge and as a tribute to Bob it would be fitting if everyone attending the game joined together in a round of applause in the 63rd minute.

"Bob's family and friends approve of this initiative and it would bring joy amidst much sadness to commemorate him in this way."
