Detectives investigating the murder of Keeno Harris in Thornton Heath have launched a fresh appeal for information and witnesses.

The 28-year-old father-of-one died in hospital on Tuesday, November 29, following an incident at the Function Rooms night club, London Road, two days earlier.

Police were called to reports of a large fight at the night club around 5am on Sunday, November 27.

A large number of people were present at the scene in Brigstock Parade, but no one appeared to be injured.

A short time later, police received a call to a south London hospital after Keeno had presented himself with a gunshot injury.

Detectives believe Keeno was shot during the incident inside the club.

A post-mortem examination held on Thursday, 1 December, gave his cause of death as a gunshot wound.

Keeno, who lived in Croydon but had grown up Brixton, was a father to a young daughter and worked as a painter and decorator.

Two men have been charged in connection with this investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Lynes, who is leading the investigation by the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "We need to hear from people who were present at the Brigstock Parade Function Room during the early hours of Sunday 27 November.

"And particularly anyone who may have either seen men present in possession of firearms at the venue or saw the altercation which resulted in Keeno Harris being shot around 5am.

"The venue was full of people at the time and the incident happened in a public area in view of those there.

"I can reassure potential witnesses or those with information about this case that they will be dealt with sensitively and confidentially and so I urge them to make contact."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8721 4868.
