Former Guardian editor, Jo Gumb, has written her first book for children, with profits going to The Children’s Trust at Tadworth Court.

Now managing director of Croydon-based marketing and events company, White Label Creative, Jo discovered The Children’s Trust during her time with the local Guardian and The Hungry Teddy was inspired by an incident in one of its charity shops near where she lives.

Beautifully illustrated by talented Streatham artist Kerry Pattison-Christie, The Hungry Teddy is a heart-warming Christmas adventure aimed at pre-school and nursery children.

“Kerry and I have done a few readings with nursery children and been amazed by the response so far,” said Jo.

“Our ambition is to raise several thousand for The Children’s Trust this year, and, if it is successful, to publish the sequel in time for next Christmas, with profits again going to The Trust.”

The Hungry Teddy is available, priced £12.99 on Amazon and at www.hungryteddy.co.uk.
