It has been six months since library campaigner Robert Gibson went missing from his home.

His family this week took to social media in an attempt to get the dad home before Christmas.

There has been no reports of his whereabouts since a possible sighting in the Isle of Wight in June.

The 45-year-old, known for his work to safeguard the future of the Upper Norwood Joint Library, left his Gipsy Hill home to go for a walk at about 3pm on June 13.

On the day he went missing he was seen in a Co-operative shop in Central Hill, Crystal Palace, before travelling to the Isle of Wight.

A family member took to social media on Monday, December 20, in an effort to get through to their missing loved one.

He said: “Robbie if you’re seeing this which I'm not sure if you are or not there's 5 more sleeps until Christmas and it'll be the best present in the world for our family and your friends if you can bring yourself to bring yourself home for Christmas.

“And it would be the best present in the world for your son Rory misses you and needs his dad home.

“I know your probably thinking you can't do it but you can you’re a Gibson which means you’re a fighter and things can be sorted no matter how bad you think things maybe, I'm really, really hoping you will see this post and come to your senses and get home or at least contact somebody.

“Look after yourself and you can ring me anytime… Christine Gibson Emma Hanna.”

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police in Lambeth on 101 or the charity Missing People on 116000.
