A teenager who ploughed his quad bike into a bus stop and knocked an eight-year-old boy off his bicycle is now in a stable condition, police have confirmed.
Officers continue to investigate the crash that happened in Wickham Road, Shirley on Monday, January 9.
The child was riding his bicycle when the four-wheeler mounted the pavement and knocked him off before careering into a bus stop at 3.50pm, officers said.
The teenager, 16, was taken to a south London hospital and was being treated for life-threating injuries.
But police now say it is believed his injuries are not life threatening or life changing.
The eight-year-old suffered minor injuries.
