A 14-year-old school boy was stabbed during a fight near West Croydon train station this afternoon.
The boy suffered stab wounds to the neck and has been taken to a south London hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
Police were called to Poplar Walk at 4.30pm to reports of a large group of youths fighting.
Officers were on routine patrol when they came across the incident.
Four males have been arrested, police have confirmed.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Officers on routine patrol in Poplar Walk came across a large group of youths.
"One of the youths had suffered a wound tot he neck. Officers administered first aid until London Ambulance Service arrived.
"London Air Ambulance also attended the scene."
"Officers are now investigating the events that led to the boy being injured."
