Two masked men stormed a bank located opposite a police base in Norbury and are now on the run with stolen cash.
The cocky pair told NatWest staff in the London Road branch they were armed and made off with the cash shortly before 10am on Saturday, February 11.
Witnesses from surrounding businesses have told how they saw several police vans swarm the bank, but the suspects had left before officers arrived.
No one was harmed, a Metropolitan Police spokesman has said, and The Flying Squad are now investigating the incident.

One witness, Shujaat Gujjar, 23, said: “I saw about three or four police vans pull up outside the bank.
“They blocked the entry to the bank with tape and a policeman was standing outside.”
The bank, which opens between 9am and 12.30pm on Saturdays, is located almost directly opposite the Norbury and Upper Norwood Safer Neighbourhoods’s office.
A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or tweet @MetCC."
