Violence, threatening and abusive behaviour towards neighbours, and loud arguments have led to the closure of a South Croydon flat.
Croydon Council’s antisocial behaviour team shut down 50A Blenheim Park Road on Thursday, February 9, following an investigation by the landlord.
Hyde Housing Association officials attempted to settle an ongoing neighbour dispute between two households on the street before asking the authority to intervene.
The push for action came after another resident, who is not a Hyde tenant, became affected by the nuisance in November last year.
Councillor Hamida Ali, cabinet member for communities, safety and justice, said: “It was clear from previous interventions that the antisocial behaviour was continuing despite warning of further action.
“So, following a multi-agency meeting, it was agreed that the closure order was the only option to safeguard the community.”
The property has been secured by the landlord service, who will be responsible for any further action taken against their tenant.
