A young woman who went missing after a driver helped her when she was seen to be distressed has now been found.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was walking with her husband when she became extremely agitated in St James's Road, Croydon at around 5.30pm on Monday, March 6.
Police say the woman had been suffering from extreme anxiety in recent months, but passers-by may have believed her distressed was caused by a serious altercation.
A female driver pulled up next to the couple and invited the distressed woman to get in.
Police said there was nothing to suggest that either woman posed a threat to the other.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "Police in Croydon were appealing for help to find a distressed woman seen getting got into a car in St James's Road at around 5.30pm on Monday, 6 March.
"Officers have now located the woman and established that she is safe."
