A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was stabbed to death in Upper Norwood.
London Ambulance Service called police to an address in Ravensdale Gardens on Monday 13 at 6am following reports of a 38-year-old woman suffering stab wounds.
She was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.48am.
Next of kin have been informed and formal identification awaits.
Enquiries are underway with detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command led by Detective Chief Inspector Will Reynolds investigating.
No arrests have been made.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said he was "shocked" and added: "It's terrible it happened to someone so young."
