Police have released images of a man they would like to speak to after a machete attack at Norbury station.

According to the British Transport Police (BTP), the victim, a 38-year-old man, was "involved in an altercation" with another man while they travelled on the 6.33pm service from London Victoria to West Croydon on Saturday, February 25.

Both men left the train at Norbury station at around 7pm and walked towards the exit, before the man grabbed the victim by the arm and pulled him back, and began attacking him with a machete that he pulled from his bag.

The BTP said the victim sustained minor injuries to his arms before his attacker left the station.

Police would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV images.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Sarah Garden, said: “If you recognise this man, please contact me as soon as possible as he may have information which could help the investigation.

"Fortunately the victim’s injuries on this occasion were not serious.

"It is vital that we trace the offender and prevent him from attacking anyone else.”

Anyone who recognises the man or has any information about the attack is asked to call 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting reference number 265 27/03/17.
