American chain restaurant Five Guys has set its sights on coming to south London, after being named the ‘UK ‘s favourite fast-food restaurant’, for the second year running.

The restaurant known for its burgers and innovative milkshake combinations, will create 42 new jobs, when it comes to Croydon High Street at the beginning of autumn. The new restaurant will seat 209 people.

Five Guys, which only launched in the UK in 2013, also has a host of celebrity fans including the likes of Tom Hardy, Mollie King, Sam Smith, Barack Obama, Vogue Williams and Conor Maynard.

Five Guys UK CEO John Eckbert, said: “We are excited to be coming to Croydon High Street in September this year.  We’re gearing up to serve our fresh, handmade and fully customisable burgers, hotdogs and milkshakes.  The new location will create 42 new local jobs, seat 209 people, and will hopefully be the perfect place to Croydon residents to sit back, relax and enjoy a great quality meal.”

Five Guys will open on September 4.
