A youth was stabbed on a bus in New Addington on Friday.

Roads and Transport police are appealing for witnesses and information after a fight allegedly resulted in a teenage boy being stabbed.

On Friday, May 5 police were called at around 2pm to reports of a fight, with knives, on a route 64 bus in Danebury, New Addington.

Officers attended but those involved in the fight had already left the bus and ran away. A Samurai sword was found on the ground in Danebury.

Witnesses said two males attacked another male on the bus. All three left the bus in Danebury where the fight was reported to have continued, before police arrived.

A black Vauxhall Corsa reportedly pulled up and males got out and chased the victim through the estate.

Just over half an hour later, officers were informed that a 17-year-old male had attended a south London hospital suffering a stab wound to the shoulder.

According to the Met Police, his injury was “not life threatening” and he has since been discharged.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.

PC Darren Barlow, the officer in the case, said: “I am appealing witnesses on the route 64 bus, which went from Thornton Heath to New Addington that afternoon to contact me.

“I am also appealing for anyone who was in the Danebury area and the saw the fight continuing after all those involved had left the bus.”
