A man with a mission to travel the world and find love has landed in South Croydon.

The 22-year-old American man has been in the UK for nearly two weeks now and has already made his way down to the “more spaced out” area of Croydon.

Ian Dangerfield came over here with the idea to see the sights “but not alone.”

So far, he’s tried everything you could imagine to accomplish his goal.

“When I first got over here I hung out with a couple pick up artists to see how they do their stuff,” Mr Dangerfield told the Croydon Guardian.

“I tried it around the tube to no success.

“So then I used all the dating apps that are popular over here and started mixing in social circles in church events and couch surfing events; they’ve been better.”

How has he found the dating scene in Croydon since his move down south on Sunday (June 18)?

“I've found there’s not a lot of people my age,” he said.

“There are a lot of older singles but a lot of the people my age aren’t looking for serious relationships.

“There are a few but it’s harder to find.”

On his website he says that he “moved around a lot as a kid and loved it which fed my desire to travel the world. Being single fed my desire to find a wife. So I says to myself, ‘why not travel the world to find a wife?’”

With his stay due to end by the end of this month, he doesn’t have long to find love.
