A south London man has been charged with offences including rape that date back up to 30 years.

Mark Phillip Dixie, 46, has been charged with rape, causing grievous bodily harm and indecent assault against two women.

The rape is alleged to have happened in 1987, when Dixie - born 24.09.70 - was a teenager while the other offences date from 2002.

He will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court, via video link, on Wednesday, June 28.

District crown prosecutor of the London Homicide team Rob Davis said the Metropolitan Police were authorised to charge Mr Dixie after the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) considered a file of evidence from the Met police.

The file of evidence related to allegations made against Mark Dixie of historic sexual offences against women.

“Following a review of the evidence, the CPS has authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Mark Dixie, 46, with three offences against two women – one of rape in 1987, and indecent assault and causing grievous bodily harm relating to another woman in 2002,” Mr Davies said.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mark Dixie are now active and that he has a right to a fair trial.”
