Motorists in Croydon are set to save some pennies when pay and display charges are lifted in around 20 spots around the borough.

Croydon Council will revoke one-hour maximum stay pay and display only parking bays and replace them with free one-hour maximum stay spaces at a number of streets from Monday, July 3.

The change means motorists need to display a free ticket from the pay and display machine. The operational hours of the bays will remain unchanged

It will also change the one-hour maximum stay available at shared use (permit/pay and display) bays in Old Lodge Lane (by Brighton Road, Purley) to one-hour maximum stay free parking spaces.

Non-permit holders will be required to display a free ticket from the pay and display machine. The operational hours of the bays will remain unchanged.
