Purley could be getting a new retirement home.
McCarthy and Stone has shown interest in land at 6 to 12 Woodcote Valley Road, Purley. They are proposing to redevelop the site with retirement living accommodation, exclusively for the over 60s.
Residents and group around the area may even get to have a say in formal application.
A spokesperson for McCarthy and Stone said: “We are committed to engaging with the local community and will be offering residents the opportunity to meet with the project team to discuss the early proposals in the coming weeks."
"This will ensure residents and stakeholders can view and comment on these plans before we submit a planning application.”
McCarthy and Stone anticipated there would be a 70.6 per cent increase in the number of over 65s in Croydon by 2037.
The company said that arrangements had already been made to meet the relevant representatives and immediate neighbours of the site to give them an opportunity to view the early proposals, prior to a public exhibition.
