Original artwork by Andy Warhol is coming to Croydon

As part of a month-long celebration of the artist's life, his work will be displayed at RISEgallery this September.

Visitors will be able to take a step back in time, with the range of artwork dating back to the 1950s right through to the 1980s.

The exhibition will be complemented by giant homages to Warhol created by a dozen leading contemporary artists, including Ron English, Dan Cimmermann and Dotmaster. These will be displayed at prominent locations throughout the town and lit up at night.

The RISEgallery, which is located in St George’s Walk, will open from 10am to 6pm seven days a week throughout the month. A special late-night opening of the gallery will take place on Friday, September 8.

In addition to the exhibitions, a series of talks, lectures, film and documentary screenings will also form part of the initiative, which is expected to attract tens of thousands of extra visitors into the south London town.
