A 16-year-old boy and 18-year-old woman have appeared in court charged with the murder of a Croydon teenager.

A 17-year-old boy will also appear in court today (Tuesday) after he was charged with murder on Monday.

Jermaine Goupall was killed by a single stab wound to the leg after he was confronted by three men while out with friends, police said.

The 15-year-old died at the scene in Green Lane, Croydon, shortly before midnight on Tuesday, August 8.

The teenagers, who have not been named by police, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday.

They were remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.

Officers are exploring a potential link between Jermaine's death and fight between teenagers armed with sticks earlier that day.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Lynes anyone with information about the altercation or the attack on Jermaine is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

He added: "Jermaine's family are devastated by his loss, my thoughts are with them at this difficult time. Please help us find the people responsible for taking their son from them."

On Monday, police arrested a 17-year-old on suspicion of murder. He was taken to a south London police station for questioning.
