A fourth arrest has been made in connection to the murder of Croydon teenager Jermaine Goupall.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, August 17 August on suspicion on murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station.

Three people have already been arrested and charged with Jermaine’s murder.

A 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman - Saskia Haye-Elliot - were arrested on Friday, August 11 August and were subsequently charged with murder the next day.

A 17-year-old boy was then arrested on Monday, August 14 and charged with murder that same day.

Those three defendants are due to next appear at the Old Bailey for a pre-trial preparation hearing (PTPH) on Wednesday, November 1.

The Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command is investigating and detectives continue to appeal for anyone with information about the circumstances around Jermaine's murder to come forward.

Jermaine, 15, was out with a group of friends on the evening of Tuesday, August 8 in Green Lane, near Costcutter, when they were confronted by three men wearing balaclavas and armed with knives and a machete.

Police were called to the scene at around 11pm and members of the public rushed to help Jermaine after he was injured before police officers and the London Ambulance Service arrived. Jermaine was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before midnight.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on Wednesday, August 9 and gave cause of death as a single stab wound to Jermaine's leg.
