A group of friends were left cold, tired and annoyed after a Thornton Heath limo company failed to pick them up in the middle of the night following a recent festival.

Sam Boswell and seven of his friends had booked for Topman Limos to take them home at 1am after a long day at the Reading Festival.

Unfortunately for them, Topman never showed up.

Mr Boswell said: "We then had to find another way of transportation, which cost us an additional £600 (on top of £315 for Topman).

"Eventually after our eventful night, we got home at 5am instead of 2.30am.

"To make things worse, all of this was a surprise present for my brother-in-law who turned 39; he entered his 40th year in the cold Reading Train Station.

"Due to us getting back so late, we had to pay our babysitter for an additional three hours, which has had a big effect on her weekend plans."

A spokesperson for Topman Limos said the incident occurred because of a miscommunication.

"Unfortunately the booking that was made was mistook for 1pm and not 1am," he said.

"We've agreed to compensate the customers for the money they paid for our limo and also for the money spent on getting home."

Mr Boswell confirmed he had received an initial payment and that Topman said they would set up a payment plan for the rest of the money.
