A paranoid schizophrenic accused of murdering a university lecturer near Morden Tube station last year has admitted the killing.

Mark Loveridge, 39, appeared at the Old Bailey today (September 18) where he pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 30-year-old Daniel Young at Kendor Gardens, Kenley Road, on January 19, on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

Loveridge also pleaded guilty to a charge of wounding with intent against another victim, Kamil Bulat, 23, who was stabbed in the buttocks in Lewis Road, Mitcham, on the same day.

Loveridge, who had denied murder. was remanded in custody to be sentenced at the Old Bailey on October 24.
