Described as the "epitome of modern luxury," the Hilton London Croydon Hotel has been a staple in town for 25 years.
Last week people gathered at the hotel to celebrate the quarter-century milestone.
Mayor Toni Letts was among the crowd and described what the hotel meant to the community.
"The Hilton London Croydon Hotel is the epitome of modern luxury, a large reception, tastefully lit with a bar sumptuous comfortable sofas and seating," she said.
"It has exquisitely designed rooms, international fine dining, meeting rooms, a luxury conference facility, gala dinner events room and a gym."
