The winner of this year's Apprentice says basing her sweets business in Croydon played a big part in her success.

Sarah Lynn made history alongside James White on Sunday night as two people won the show for the first time in its history.

Mrs Lynn's already established company, 'Sweets in the City', did enough to tantalise Lord Sugar into handing her £250,000.

But what you may not know is that since 2014, her business has been run out of Croydon.

Mrs Lynn told the Croydon Guardian that the area has really hit the sweet spot.

"One of our big suppliers is in Croydon so it really was the perfect solution to move to here," she said,

"It has been a great place to work."

Now that she has a little extra cash to throw into the store, she is looking to expand even further.

But she wasn't about to give away any locations just yet.

"We are bursting at the scene at our current location," she said.

"We want to add onto the space that we already have, but there aren't any ideas at the moment where that space would be."

Like the rest of the nation, Mrs Lynn waited eagerly each week to see what would and would not make it into the show.

"We wouldn't know what would make the final cut, so it was good being able to see that for myself," she said.

"It was especially interesting seeing what the other teams got up to during the tasks because being on the show you have no idea."

In the final episode, she and Mr White welcomed back the contestants Lord Sugar had previously fired, to help them create a video advert and billboard for their companies.

They then had to give a pitch to a group of industry experts, who shared their thoughts on the business plans with Lord Sugar. Overall though, Mrs Lynn said it was an experience she would never forget.

"It was fun and scary at the same time," she said. The things I learnt and the places I went, I never would have done otherwise."
