A man is believed to have suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Caterham-on-the-Hill this afternoon.
Surrey Police were called at 3pm to Townend this afternoon (December 18) to reports of a man being hit by a car.
Upon arrival they discovered that a Silver Volvo had collided with a pedestrian.
A police spokeswoman said: "It looks as if the man's injuries are serious, but it is too early to tell."
Passers-by reportedly saw a "fair amount" of blood on the pavement.
Roads were initially closed but have now re-opened.
