A 255-space carpark is now open 24 hours a day to the public.

The Wandle Road surface car park was previously only available to the public on weekends and during the night, with access reserved for Croydon Council staff during the daytime.

The site underneath the Croydon Flyover will even have two bays with electric charging points, as well as free parking for motorbikes.

Councillor Stuart King, said: “We decided to open Wandle Road surface car park for 24-hour public use because it’s a great location for people visiting the town centre, whether that’s for work, shopping or enjoying Croydon’s nightlife.

“This investment underlines the council’s commitment to making Croydon town centre an even more accessible and popular destination.”

Parking prices will remain the same as before.
