A Crystal Palace scout group is celebrating more than a century of work with the help of some famous footballers.

Crystal Palace FC have donated an Eagles football shirt – signed by the whole team – to help raise money to support 1st Crystal Palace 2nd Croydon Scouts.

The shirt, along with a certificate of authenticity, will be raffled at an event to celebrate 110 years of scouting in Crystal Palace on February 24.

George Campbell is the scout leader of 1st Crystal Palace 2nd Croydon and issued a thank you on behalf of the 110 children currently taking part in the scout group.

“Lots of our youngsters are Eagles supporters and so to have Crystal Palace FC supporting us is not only very generous it’s also very pertinent,” he said.

“Our youngsters, like many others, look up to the players as role models and the club’s support sends a very positive message.”
