The occupants of two cars have come away with lucky escapes after their cars flipped over after a crash last night.

Emergency services rushed to the junction of Coombe Lane and Gravel Hill in New Addington after being called just after 6.30pm.

A spokesman for the Met said that upon arrival they found two cars overturned, one on its roof and the other on its side.

"The people in the car were fine and did not sustain any serious injuries," he said.

"Croydon Council also attended and have since gritted the road."

The spokesman said the crash was likely a result of the adverse weather.

A spokesperson from Croydon Council said the road was gritted before the crash.

No arrests have been made.
