Chris Solly wants Charlton players to “take a good look at themselves” - and knows only wins will get fans back onside.
The Addicks have won just once in seven games and lost 1-0 to relegation-threatened Blackpool last night. Karl Robinson’s men never looked like scoring at Bloomfield Road.
The abject display prompted an angry reaction from the 264 travelling supporters, who made the 500-mile-round trip.
First-team captain Solly said: “There was just silence [in the dressing room at full-time]. Everyone is disappointed.
“We've spoken so much over the last few weeks about what we’re going to do, what we’re going to put right. But we haven't done it so we’ve let ourselves down.
“Everyone knows words don't mean anything, it’s our performances that are going to change it and the performances are going to win fans back and get them back on our side.”
Charlton have dropped to eighth and are now five points off a top six spot.
A win over Blackpool by a two-goal margin would have lifted the Addicks back into the play-offs.
It seemed an achievable feat against a side that hadn’t won at home in the league since October.

But chances were few and far between with Michal Zyro having Charlton’s only notable opening of the game. The Wolves loanee was unmarked and headed over from close-range.
Solly added: “We’ve had one or two half chances and that’s nowhere near good enough. As a team we’re just not performing right.
“You can’t blame the forward boys for not putting the chances away, we’re not creating enough from midfield and from defence we’re not helping those boys enough.
“So everyone has got to take a real good look at themselves in the mirror now and put this right. We’ve got to stick together, look at ourselves individually and as a team.
“We’ve got to work together as a team and put this right, starting against Fleetwood on Saturday. We need three points and it’s a massive game for us.

“As a player there’s no point even looking at the table if we’re not going to win games.
“We still feel we’re in a position to get into the play-offs, but unless we start winning then nothing’s going to change. It’s all on us. It’s still in our hands, if we win enough games we’ll make it, if we don’t then we won’t. It’s as simple as that.”
Solly was substituted in the second-half after injuring his knee.
And Charlton boss Robinson confirmed the right-back will miss Saturday’s game against Fleetwood.
Solly said: “Just as I blocked the shot, it opened up my knee. I carried on trying to play for five or ten minutes but it was too uncomfortable.
“I don't know the extent of it yet, I’m just hoping it’s not too bad.”
