Bunnings Warehouse officially opened its doors today (March 15) in Walton.

The 34,000 square feet home improvement store, on the site of the former Homebase in New Zealand Avenue, was officially opened by former England footballer Kelly Smith.

She said she had a “great time” at the opening, adding: “Just like football, success is built on strong teamwork and it’s evident that everyone here is committed to making the store a hit.”

Walton complex manager, Roy Tripp, said: “All our team members have worked really hard to get the store ready for opening and have undertaken many hours of training to make sure we have the expertise to help customers with home or garden projects.”

The new store will host two weekends of events- March 17 to 18 and March 24 to 25- where customers can partake in a range of family activities including the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, face-painting, balloon modelling and a Chase & Skye story time session.

Bunnings in Walton will be open from 7am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
