Four teenagers have been found guilty of the murder of a young man who was fatally stabbed in Battersea.

Mahamed Hassan, 17, died from a stab wound to his abdomen after police and the London Ambulance Service were called to Sullivan Close at around 1.25am on April 23 last year.

Enquiries discovered that he was chased up Meyrick Road on the night and was attacked outside Scholey House in the same road.

Detective Inspector Domenica Catino of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, speaking after the conviction yesterday (March 15), said: "Today’s verdicts will not bring back Mahamed - a young man who should have had a long life ahead of him has been taken from his family.

“I hope that today’s verdicts bring a measure of comfort to Mahamed’s family and loved ones."

Tyriq Aboagye, 18, of Westbury Road in Ilford, was found guilty of murder, violent disorder, and perverting the course of justice.

Donald Goate-Oueyeya, 18, of Stockwell Road in Lambeth, was also found guilty of murder and pleaded guilty to violent disorder at an earlier hearing.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Kishon Allen, of Mount Road in Mitcham, was found guilty of murder and violent disorder.

A fourth teenager, a 17-year-old from Tooting, was found guilty of murder while pleading guilty to violent disorder at an earlier hearing.

All four were convicted at the Old Bailey yesterday following a trial which began in January, with their sentencing due on March 28.

There were four other men involved in the police investigation – two men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of murder but were later released with no further action taken.

An 18-year-old man is also set to stand trial for murder, however a date is yet to be confirmed.
