Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet has rejected Karl Robinson’s resignation.
It is understood that the Liverpudlian offered to quit before the Addicks’ defeat to Blackpool last week.
Robinson, whose Charlton deal runs out next summer, has been frustrated by broken promises this season.
Duchatelet told the Addicks boss funds would be available to bolster his squad in January, however, the Belgian’s desire to sell-up stopped that from happening.
The lack of transfer activity coupled with the loss of star man Ricky Holmes to Sheffield United has affected Charlton’s play-off hopes - they have won just four times since the turn of the year.
Robinson, who has been heavily linked with the Oxford United vacancy, has publicly admitted new Charlton owners would see the end of his Valley days.
A national newspaper reported earlier today that an Australian consortium interested in buying Charlton want Crawley boss Harry Kewell to take over from Robinson.
The Addicks are five points away from the play-offs with 10 games remaining.
