Croydon University Hospital is set to become a "one-stop-shop for sexual health.

As part of a £150,000 revamp, the Contraception and Sexual Health service and Sexual Health clinic will be moved a mile-and-a-half from Edridge Road to the main hospital site.

One of the main services now on offer will be a dedicated clinic for under 18’s as well as a system that allows people to come for routine STI tests without the need to see a doctor.

Director of nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, Michael Fanning was happy that all the sexual health teams would now be under one roof.

“We are making sure that our clients have access to the same level of service, with no change to clinic times," he said.

"Our staff from Edridge Road will be moving to the CUH site and will continue to provide their caring and professional service at the new sexual health centre.

“It will give them much quicker and more flexible access to the wide range of services provided at our Croydon University Hospital site including our early pregnancy advisory unit, scanning and radiology services, HIV service and maternity and gynaecology professional support, as well as our emergency department if required.

"This will make things easier for our users as rather than having to travel between the two sites for different treatments, they will now be able to do everything in one place.”
