Police are appealing for information after a man was twice punched in the face at Purley Station.

A 65-year-old man had got off a train and was leaving the station just after 10pm on February 19 when a man double shuffled through the ticket barriers behind him to try to avoid paying.

When challenged over his behaviour, he punched the victim on the left side of his face, causing his glasses to fall to the floor.

After bending down to pick up his damaged glasses, he was again punched in the face.

Officers believe the man shown in the CCTV image (pictured) might have information which could help with the investigation.
