Election results have been declared in the borough Croydon this morning after yesterday's voting and a long night at the counts.

Labour has come out on top.

Of the 70 seats up for election, 41 went to Labour and 29 went to the Conservatives

The final ward, Crystal Palace and Upper Norwood, was declared at 6.13am this morning. Voter turnout was 38 per cent.

This was the first local election since Croydon’s ward boundaries were changed following a review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.
