One photographer is out to prove that Coulsdon is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Kiran Parmar found himself at a place where you could enjoy rural scenery, fresh air, take the dog for a walk, and take in 360 degrees of beautiful panoramic scenery.

This place is called Farthing Downs.

"This is one of my most favourite places to go walking for many reasons," Mr Parmar said.

"Firstly, the sheer beauty of the place is a huge attraction. You can see hilly greenery for miles.

"Secondly you will notice how fresh the air is as there is no polluting traffic nearby. It is perfect for groups and families alike. There are neatly trimmed grass pathways to walk on and the terrain is mostly flat and easy going.

"In the summer I often see parents with their children flying kites having a great time along with cyclists and horse riders who are equally enjoying the tranquil surroundings."

But he saved the most important point for last.

"If you're into photography as I am, it is the perfect place to capture and enjoy sunsets in the spring and summer months," Mr Parmar said.

"If you are there during, what us photographers call the ‘golden hour,’ you are in for a treat.

"As the sun descends into the horizon the sky changes from blue, to pink, to a fiery red. The whole of Farthing Downs comes alive and it is truly mesmerising."

It wasn't just the one spot that caught his eye however.

He recommended Happy Valley as a place to take in the scenery if not already because, as the name suggests, "it is a beautiful little valley."

"It is easy to forget you are still in Croydon," he said.

"If you have not yet visited, I urge you to do so.

"I guarantee you will want to come back over and over again."
