With contributions from students, parents, staff and the local community in general, the Monks Orchard Primary School art exhibition was a sight to see.

Croydon Mayor Toni Letts was on hand to open 'the hive' exhibition and although there were some more than memorable pieces, it was a giant bee made from willow and carnival tissue that stole the show.

"Everyone has been working together, which has been fantastic for local morale and just shows what you can achieve as a community," said parent Julie Bernard.

Guy Fairbairn, the school’s headteacher, was also full of praise for the children.

"We are immensely proud of the work our children do and to show their fantastic creativity in public is a great opportunity for us."
