A Croydon group took the opportunity to break its fast while trying to raise awareness about dementia.
The British Bangladesh Society celebrated Ramadan with members of the community whilst also taking part in a 'dementia friends' information session.
The aim of being a dementia friend is to learn about what it is like to live with the disease and then turns that information into community action.
One person in attendance was Deputy Mayor of Croydon Humayun Kabir.
“The number of people living with dementia is increasing at an alarming rate and its very important that we raise awareness levels," he said.
"I’m proud our community came together to not only break our Ramadan fast together but to also promote the great work of the Alzheimer’s Society."
