A South Croydon construction site just got a little more colourful.

A new Lidl is currently being built in Brighton Road, but it won't be your average hoardings covering the site.

Instead, artwork from Manor Green College students will adorn the outside until construction is complete.

The school's headteacher, Grahame Robson, said the kids had been looking forward to this day for a while.

"It is a great opportunity to showcase students with learning disabilities, who have something to say, just like anyone else in the community, and can be every bit as creative and artistic," he said.

"I’m grateful to everyone involved for providing us with the chance to take part.”
