The countdown is on for Croydon’s third annual PrideFest.

The celebration of LGBT+ pride on Saturday (July 14) will kick off two days of free music in Wandle Park in Waddon.

On the Sunday, the park will host ZEE Croydon International Mela for the second year which will celebrate the culture of the borough’s Asian communities.

PrideFest will start with a parade along North End from 11.30am, followed by live music and entertainment all afternoon and evening, with a dance tent open until 10pm.

Acts on the day include Asifa Lahore, star of Channel 4’s Muslim Drag Queens and singer songwriter Christopher Haul.

From 1-8pm on Sunday, international acts, local artists, family fun and the Tastes of Asia food market.

Headline acts confirmed include British singer-songwriter Arjun performing alongside London Mozart Players with orchestrations by Fiona Brice, YouTube hit Zack Knight, as well as rising star EZU from South London.

Cllr Oliver Lewis, cabinet member for culture, leisure and sport said: “I’m really looking forward to the Croydon International Mela this year.

“It is an opportunity to celebrate our diversity and the different cultures that make up Croydon. It is also an opportunity for many people to enjoy one of the boroughs finest parks.”
