In the world of police cadets, Croydon's crop are the best of the bunch.
During a London-wide competition designed to test the up and coming officers’ knowledge, physical skills and team dynamics, the Croydon Volunteer Police Cadets took first prize.
From dealing with nuclear incidents to crashes on the road, it was busy day for the cadets, but Police Sergeant Luke Entwistle, from the Met’s Youth Strategy team, said it was great to see so many keen faces.
"This year’s competition saw record numbers of cadets from every borough selflessly give up their own time to get involved," he said.
“We are so proud all those who took part, including officers, staff and volunteers who assisted in the smooth running of the competition, despite the blistering hot weather conditions.”
