Police have released a picture of a man they wish to speak with after a man was stabbed in Thornton Heath.

On June 20, officers were at Croydon University Hospital regarding a separate matter, when they noticed a man suffering from stab wounds to his leg.

They discovered that two days prior, the 22-year-old victim had been sitting in his vehicle outside a parade of shops on Woodville Road when he was approached by two men.

Following a short conversation with the victim, forced their way into his car pushing him into the passenger seat.

They drove to a corner shop on Beulah Road where the victim was forced to make a withdrawal from a cash machine.

They then drove back to Woodville Road where, on seeing his friends in a nearby car, the victim got out of the car and ran to the other vehicle.

He was followed by the two suspects who also forced their way into this second vehicle. A fight ensued, during which the victim was stabbed in the leg.

The suspects got out of the car and ran from the scene. Friends of the victim drove him to hospital.

Officers are keen to speak to 21-year-old Leonard Knowles, who is from the Croydon area, in connection with this investigation.

Members of the public are asked not to approach Knowles but to call 101 quoting reference CAD6650/18JUN. To remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
