A soldier from Croydon died in a car crash on Wednesday hours after returning from serving in Iraq.
Lance Corporal Paul Knight, 20, was killed in Wiltshire near his barracks at around 7.30pm after arriving back in the country only four hours earlier. It is believed he was on his way to celebrate his return.
He had spent the last six months in Iraq serving with the 4th Battalion the Rifles.
His friend, Lance Corporal Nathan Long, 22, was also killed when the Vauxhall Corsa they were travelling in collided with a Mercedes Vito taxi in heavy rain.
